Origin Acoustics Partners with The CEDIA Government Affairs Program

Origin Acoustics announced today that they will be the headline sponsor for the CEDIA Advocacy Town hall Breakfast taking place on Thursday September 29th in the Forks Ballroom at 7:30am on the opening day of the CEDIA Expo.

Origin Acoustics, the leading manufacturer of architectural audio and curator of design centric technology™, partners with CEDIA and the Government Affairs Program.

Origin Acoustics announced today that they will be the headline sponsor for the CEDIA Advocacy Town hall Breakfast taking place on Thursday September 29th in the Forks Ballroom at 7:30am on the opening day of the CEDIA Expo.

The CEDIA Government Affairs program monitors changing laws and legislation and stands up for the dealers in addition to attending state legislative sessions and city council meetings across the country to help make sure our industry isn’t infringed upon by lawmakers.

Origin Acoustics Legal Counsel, Brent Sonnek-Schmelz reminds us, “we need to work together as an industry to make sure that we are protecting the rights of small low-voltage businesses everywhere or we could risk serious repercussions. A bad law passed anywhere, even a small town, can lead to bad laws being passed everywhere. We ignore regulation at our own peril.”

The event will start at 7:30am with a complimentary breakfast that will go till 8am. Starting at 8, a panel discussion to review how the CEDIA program works and how everyone can get involved will take place with time for Q&A and will end prior to the Expo floor opening at 9am.

CEDIA’s Global President and CEO, Daryl Friedman says, “Imagine waking up one day and finding your integration business can no longer operate in your state.  That could have been the reality in more than 20 states (and counting) if not for CEDIA’s advocacy work across the U.S. –  and the world. CEDIA is the only organization that advocates your business and ensures you can work in a favorable regulatory environment.  But the fight continues, and we need the entire C.I. Community to join us as advocates.”

Origin Acoustics will be the headline sponsor and has created a specially designed shirt to help dealers and vendors stand together and unite in local markets to help ensure the longevity of our industry. Gordon Isaac, Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer for Origin Acoustics says, “We have designed this shirt to reflect the love we have for our low-voltage industry as illustrated by the blue cat 5 heart on the front. The words “Protect What You Love” are shown on the back to illustrate the importance of us working together to ensure our dealer’s rights are not infringed upon by policies which could negatively impact our industry. We are proud to partner with CEDIA and show support for everyone who makes an honest living installing low voltage products”

CEDIA’s Senior VP of Product and Business Development, Giles Sutton adds, “We appreciate that vendors like Origin Acoustics understand the importance of CEDIA’s Government Affairs program and are supporting us the way that they are.  This initiative impacts all of the dealers and vendors alike so it’s great to have a partner who is getting behind the program and working with their customers to do so as well.”
