The bundle gives homeowners purpose-built control from the moment the awning is installed.
Designed for outdoor living – and a 2025 CEDIA Best New Hardware Finalist – Bond Mate Pro is a water-resistant (IP44-rated) smart remote for awnings, pergolas, shades, and other products. The remote control offers a line-of-sight radio-frequency (RF) range of up to 200 feet (covering a localized area of approximately 1,500 square feet), and its 169-dot-matrix LED display supports comfortable operation day and night.
Included with the PowerShades awning, Mate Pro provides immediate handheld control for extending, retracting, and positioning the shade—without requiring homeowners to source or configure a separate controller. Adding the optional Bond Bridge Pro RF-to-WiFi gateway to the installation enables control through the Bond Home smartphone app and automation systems such as Control4, URC, Crestron, Josh.ai, and more.
Debuting at CEDIA Expo 2026, the Full-Cassette Awning expands PowerShades’ outdoor portfolio with aluminum-frame components, a baked-on enamel finish, and chain-driven arms engineered for smooth operation and lasting support. Its low-profile cassette complements modern architecture and protects the fabric and hardware from the elements when closed.

Advanced Control Capabilities
Mate Pro lets users create quick actions, schedules, favorite positions, and custom channel names. Setup is guided in the Bond Home App: after connecting a smartphone or tablet to Mate Pro via Bluetooth users can configure devices and enable time-aware, adaptive schedules.
PowerShades customers can expand the bundled handheld experience with additional Bond smart-home controls:
- Bond’s Breeze Pro adds ultrasonic wind, rain, and sunlight sensing for interior and exterior PowerShades.
- Bond Bridge Pro enables app, voice, and automated control. Additionally, Mate Pro and Bridge Pro together provide status feedback (status of shades operation) and scene control—for example, lowering shade and privacy screens with one command.
- Customers can add Bond’s Sidekick for Shades Gen 5 battery-powered on-wall keypad for direct control.
