New Age Electronics has further lined its connected-home nest by inking a distribution deal with Nest.
Under the agreement, the national CE and gaming distributor will carry Nest’s line of connected-home products for sale to U.S. retailers.
The partnership, which includes the third-generation Nest Learning Thermostat, Nest Protect smoke and CO2 alarm, and Nest Cam security camera, supplements New Age’s current assortment of compatible “Works with Nest” products.
“We are excited to expand our connected-home offering with Nest, one of the industry’s pioneers in making the smart home a reality,” said New Age president Fred Towns, who described the line as “innovative, easy to install and use, and well-designed.”
The addition of Nest’s product line to the company’s existing connected-home offerings will provide retailers with “a more complete solution through the distributor,” New Age said.
New Age cited a forecast from the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) projecting that smart-home products will generate $1.2 billion in revenue this year from sales of 8.9 million units.
