Nebraska Furniture Mart (NFM) has recruited Phone Surgeons, a nationwide network of mobile device technicians, to perform in-store repairs on smartphones and tablets.
The business, established in 2013 by Chris Jourdan, maintains more than 50 franchised and company-owned walk-in clinics and big-box in-store kiosks, along with a fleet of over 100 service-call techs.
NFM now maintains the mobile repair stations — called “Urgent Cares” — in or near the wireless departments of its Omaha, Kansas City and new Dallas megastores.
The “surgeons” can replace screens, batteries, charging ports, jacks, buttons and sensors; backup and recover data; and repair water-damaged devices for all makes, models, operating systems and carriers.
Phone Surgeons promises same-day repairs, with most performed in under an hour, as well as a free diagnosis and estimate.
