Belkin Opens Retail Store At LAX

Belkin is giving brick-and-mortar another go.

The accessory manufacturer opened a new retail space in Terminal 6 at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) with the Hudson Group last month. The 150-square-foot Belkin-branded store sells tablet and smartphone accessories and features a mobile-device charging station. It will carry approximately 100 SKUs.

Erik Burgers, Belkin sales director, called LAX the ideal destination for a Belkin store. The Hudson Group, which operates travel retail locations in over 80 airports and transportation terminals in the U.S., estimated that 24.5 million passengers will pass through the airport this summer.

The Los Angeles-based Belkin also opened a retail location in the Westfield Culver City Mall in 2012 but shuttered it two years ago.
