Yamaha Corporation of America today unveiled two new powered subwoofers, the NS-SW050 and NS-SW100, with proprietary Twisted Flare Port technology.
The new subs each offer 50 watts of output power. The NS-SW100 includes a 10-inch cone and features a 25-180Hz frequency response, while the NS-SW050 has an 8-inch cone and a 28-200Hz frequency response. The NS-SW050 measures stands 13.375 inches at 18.7 pounds, and the NS-SW100 stands 16.125 inches at 26.5 pounds.
Yamaha’s Active Servo Technology II in both models is said to improve accuracy and stability in low-range response, and minimizes extraneous noise down to the deepest tones.
The S-SW050 has a $169 suggested retail, and the NS-SW100 is $199. Both are available now from authorized Yamaha retailers.
“Although our Yamaha A/V receivers are the heart of the home theater system, the NS-SW050 and NS-SW100 powered subwoofers bring the heartbeat to songs and movies with a noticeable twist that helps generate deep, yet tight realistic bass sound,” said Robert Goedken, general manager, A/V division.
