Quality, Hands-On Experiences Prove Preconceived Notions Untrue
Most consumers say that a high price point (64%) and/or well-known brand name (65%) typically equate to a higher quality product. Many (64%) also admit to judging a book by it’s cover, agreeing that the way a product’s packaging looks influences their purchase.
However, poor experiences prove those preconceived notions to be untrue, and a quality, hands-on experience trumps all. In fact, 76% of consumers reported disappointment with a purchase they assumed would be the best due to high price, and 71% due to the assumption that the product would be the best due to a brand name.

In fact, a large majority (78%) have been pleasantly surprised at the high quality from a lesser known brand. At the end of the day, actions speak louder than words, and customers are more impressed by quality and performance than they are with high prices and flashy marketing campaigns.
