The USB Implementers Forum (USB-IF), the support organization for the advancement and adoption of USB technology, announced a new compliance and logo program for USB Type-C charging devices.

This program can be used with laptops, tablets, smartphones, docking stations, displays and other products, and is designed to assure consumers their charging purchases will work with multiple devices. Certified chargers will be based upon the USB Type-C and USB power-delivery specifications, and have been tested for interoperability with other USB products.

Certified USB chargers will resemble a traditional power brick or wall wart, said the group.
