New information will be arriving soon regarding the upcoming HDMI 2.2 specification, as the HDMI Forum has announced it will be holding a virtual press briefing for the new standard this Wednesday, June 25. The HDMI Forum states that, together with HDMI LA, it will provide an update on HDMI 2.2’s release date, as well as unveiling a previously unannounced feature name that manufacturers can use to indicate a product’s maximum bandwidth support.
Speakers at the briefing will include President of the HDMI Forum Chandlee Harrell as well as CEO and President of HDMI LA Rob Tobias. A Q&A session will follow the presentation.
The press briefing will take place June 25 over Zoom in an invitation-only capacity. Parties interested in attending the presentation are asked to register by sending an email to [email protected] and providing their organization name, media outlet, email and contact phone.
