Austin, Texas — Screen Innovations (SI) said Thursday it has enlarged its selection of Black Diamond ambient-light-rejecting 1.4 gain screens to include 16:9 120-inch and 2.35:1 150-inch sizes in fixed and zero-edge formats.
The new screens, which will be available this month at suggested retails starting at $2,199, will be demonstrated at InfoComm booth 419, June 18-20, in the North Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center, using projectors from partners DPI, Epson and Vivitek.
SI billed its Black Diamond screens as “the world’s only vertical and horizontal ambient-light-rejecting screen.” It uses a multi-layer optic that reflects only the light generated by the projector, resulting in a 900 percent boost in contrast.
Additionally, Black Diamond benefits dark environments by reducing light scatter by more than 75 percent.
SI called the resulting image “the richest and sharpest with the best blacks now available from a screen.”
“At SI, we believe innovation means that a design is never complete, just more perfect with each iteration,” said Ryan Gustafson, SI president. “We are excited to announce that plans are underway to invest in and expand our production capability to better support today’s large display needs. Our customers asked, and we delivered.”
All Black Diamond screens feature active 3D capabilities and are future-proofed and 4K ready.
Screen sizes start at 80 inches, in fixed, curved, motorized and zero-edge formats.
The company offers a series of online tools, including a screen calculator, screen wizard and projector wizard at ScreenInnovations.com.
