The newest plaything from Odyssey Toys is bringing augmented reality to mobile game play in a creative way.
The Mobile Arcade features a small race car that attaches to a user’s smartphone via a non-stick, non-scratch adhesive and with a provided holster. Consumers can then “maneuver” the car through different courses on their phones, racing and even tapping the car to make it “jump” through each one.
The car also features built-in LED lights that react to features within the games.
Geared toward kids ages 8 and older, the Mobile Arcade comes with one car, a car storage pod, a 5-volt USB cable and a QR activation code. Two different apps offer a range of tracks and terrains for varied gaming. A variety of car designs is available, each with a $9.99 suggested retail.
