Porsche Design is furthering its foray into the audio category by collaborating with KEF on three new audio products, including its first Bluetooth speaker and first noise-canceling headphones.
The Gravity One Bluetooth speaker, designed by Studio F. A. Porsche in Zell am See, Austria, has a winged design crafted from a single piece of aluminum with black accents. KEF’s signature “sit-anywhere” Uni-Q technology projects 360-degree sound with back-to-back, twin force-canceling auxiliary bass radiators that are said to cancel out bass distortion. Other features include Bluetooth Qualcomm AptX audio support for CD-quality sound without wires, a dedicated microphone, controls for phone calls, charging for mobile devices, a 3.5mm aux-in for other devices and up to 10 hours of play time.
Porsche’s Motion One in-ear Bluetooth headphones feature brushed-aluminum housings with a titanium finish and high-contrast black soft silicone neckband. A pivoted outer edge allows the headphone cable to be placed over the ear, while an ergonomic shell, angled to fit the ear canal, provides a comfortable fit, the company said. The headphones are water-resistant; a built-in battery offers 10 hours of playtime, and integrated phone call functions are included on the neckband.
The new Space One over-ear active noise-canceling headphones have aluminum shells with a sand-blasted titanium finish. KEF’s specially tuned active noise cancellation eliminates external noise, preserving smooth high tones, lush mid-range and tight bass, Porsche said. They use 40mm drivers together with a large 20mm neodymium magnet and a lightweight copper-clad aluminum wire voice coil. The ear pads are made from breathable, sweat-resistant leatherette over memory foam.
All three products are available at Porsche Design stores, KEF stores, carriers and retailers worldwide. The Gravity One retails for $380. The Motion One is $250, and the Space One is $420.
