As technology advances, ultraportable laptops are becoming thinner and lighter every step of the way. The 5th generation ThinkPad X1 Carbon continues to live up to that trend. Using a completely new formulation of carbon fiber, Lenovo has been able to implement a thinner and lighter top cover that is still tough, yet leaves room for standard components like the camera and display. The X1 Carbon also sits in a smaller footprint than its predecessor. The 2017 X1 Carbon brings to the table a thinner and lighter build, slim bezels, the latest Intel processors with Thunderbolt 3 support, a more secure fingerprint reader, an improved touchpad experience, and a bloatware-free operating system.
