Dallas – Systemax will open its third TigerDirect.com store tomorrow.
The showroom, located here near the Galleria Dallas mall, follows
the opening of a
second
store and distribution center
last week near Atlanta.
Like the first U.S. location in Chicago, the stores feature the
company’s Internet-connected Retail 2.0 concept, which provides Web-based image
galleries, product manuals, customer reviews, price comparisons, on-site
accessories and video demos via some 300 in-store displays. Customers can also
comparison shop competitors’ sites.
The interactive system also allows parent company Systemax to
track which products and product information customers are accessing, and to
adjust mix, pricing and inventory levels on the fly.
The format was first introduced through sister chain CompUSA, which
maintains about 31 stores in Delaware, Florida, Illinois, North Carolina and
Texas. Systemax has begun co-branding the chains by adding the phrase “powered
by TigerDirect.com” to CompUSA’s website and stores.
The new TigerDirect.com store is slated to open Wed., Oct. 27,
according to the Dallas Morning News.
