Ridgefield Park, N.J. – Samsung launched Wednesday its Xpress C18x0, M28x5 and M20x0 printer series.
All models in the 2014 Samsung printer lineup are available now and feature Samsung’s Smart printing capabilities including Google Cloud and NFC printing as well as Wi-Fi Direct settings for easier use of the Samsung Mobile Print application, the company said.
All models also are embedded with WPS which allows easy wireless printing directly from a router or printer.
Samsung’s mono printers print speeds are 29 ppm (Xpress M28x5 series), 21 ppm (Xpress M2020 series), and color at 19 ppm (Xpress C18x0 series).
The Xpress M28x5 and C18x0 printers include Samsung’s image enhancement technology.
For mobile printing convenience, all of Samsung’s new printer series feature NFC and Wi-Fi Direct technologies that allow users to securely print by tapping their smartphones on the printer.
An Easy Print Management function for mobile devices, which was previously only found in PCs, allows easy monitoring of device information and status.
Samsung’s Mobile Print app lets users print JPG, TIFF and PDF images and all Microsoft office files. With the new version of the app, Google Cloud printing is supported.
Each series shares the same toner cartridges for more cost-effective ink purchases.
Models include the Xpress M2020 ($129.99 suggested retail), printer only with 64MB of memory; the Walmart exclusive multifunction Xpress M2070FW ($209.99), printer/copier,scanner/fax with 128MB or memory; the Xpress M2835DW ($159.99) printer only with 128MB of memory and 600MHz processor; Multifunction Xpress M2885FW ($299.99) printer/copier/scanner/fax with 128MB or memory and 600MHz processor; Color Xpress C1810W ($299.99), printer only with dual processors and 256MB or memory; and Color Multifunction Xpress C1860FW, printer/copier/scanner/fax with dual processors and 256MB of memory ($499.99).
