PMA News: General Imaging Unveils 2009 GE DSC Line

Las Vegas — General Imaging trotted out 10 new GE-branded digital cameras at PMA, including its first waterproof model.

All of the company’s digital cameras will offer 9-megapixels or above resolution, face, blink and smile detection,

auto scene detection, and a new in-camera panorama mode that automatically creates a wide-angle shot as users pan the camera, rather than having to snap individual images and stitch them after the fact.

Pricing was not available at press time.

The top-line 12-megapixel E1250TW, features a 3-inch touch-screen LCD, 5x optical zoom lens (28mm) and an HDMI output.

GE also added its first waterproof model, the 12-megapixel G3WP, which can be submerged in up to 10 feet of water. It features a 4x optical zoom, and a 2.7-inch LCD that adjusts its brightness automatically according to ambient lighting conditions. 

The 12-megapixel X3 sports a 12x optical zoom lens and a 2.7-inch LCD.

The E series will all feature a 12-megapixel sensor, 3-inch LCD screens and a 28mm wide angle lens. The E1255 offers a 5x optical zoom lens while the E1276W offers a 7x optical zoom with optical image stabilization.

The 9-megapixel A950 will offer a 5x optical zoom and a 2.5-inch LCD. The 10-megapixel A1035 features a 3x optical zoom and a 2.5-inch LCD. The A1050 adds a 5x optical zoom. The A1235 offers a 12-megapixel sensor, 3x optical zoom and a 2.5-inch LCD.
