Pandigital Debuts Frames, Wireless Accessories

Dublin, Calif. — Digital frame maker Pandigital is introducing more frames and a line of accessories to give the models wireless capability or an optional battery.

The new lineup ships this month and features models ranging in size from 6 inches to 15 inches. The frames will feature PictBridge compatibility, programmable on/off times and a calendar and alarm clock feature.

Additional features include a six-in-one memory card reader, internal memory, auto-rotation to properly orient photos, support for Motion JPEG, MPEG-1/-4 and AVI video, and MP3 audio playback. The frames offer built-in speakers and a headphone jack and ship with a remote control and a pair of interchangeable frames.

The top-of-the-line 15-inch PAN150-B offers 256MB of memory, a 1,024 by 768 resolution screen and a suggested retail of $299. The 11-inch PAN111-B, for a suggested $229, offers 256MB of memory and an 800 by 480 resolution screen.

For $249, the 10.4-inch PAN104-B sports an 800 by 600 display and 256MB of internal memory. The 9-inch PAN90-2 also offers 256MB of memory, and an 800 by 480 resolution screen. It will retail for a suggested $179.

Pandigital’s 8-, 7- and 6-inch frames will offer 128MB of internal memory. The 8-inch PAN80-2, for $149, offers a display resolution of 800 by 400. The $129-suggested PAN70-1 sports a 7-inch, 480 by 234 resolution display. Finally, the entry-level PAN-602B is a 6-inch screen with a resolution of 410 by 234. It will retail for a suggested $119.

All the new models will work with a $39.99 Bluetooth adapter (shipping this month) and a $49.99 Wi-Fi adapter available in August. An accessory battery pack, also in August for $49.99, gives a frame three hours of viewing time away from an outlet.
