Panasonic Restructures Sales, Marketing

Panasonic Consumer Electronics has restructured its sales and marketing operations.

In the new structure, Shiro Kitajima, president, is now responsible for sales and products.

He will be supported by Bob Perry, who has been named VP of Panasonic Consumer Electronics. Perry will be responsible for Panasonic’s marketing, supply-chain management, e-commerce operations (both internal and external sites), the launch of HD 3D, and partnerships and alliances for new business opportunities.

Perry previously was executive VP of Panasonic Consumer Electronics Display Company. He joined Panasonic in early 2008.

A Panasonic spokesman said the company decided to restructure to “flatten the organization, to simplify it and speed decision-making.” He added that the Display Company has been absorbed into Panasonic Consumer Electronics.
