Memorex Opens New HQ

Cerritos, Calif. — Digital media and optical storage maker Memorex is moving its corporate headquarters here, and will mark the occasion with a ribbon-cutting ceremony today.

Participants at the moving-in ceremony include Memorex CEO/president Mike Golacinski (pictured at right ) and City of Cerritos mayor Gloria A. Kappe.

Calling Cerritos an ideal location for Memorex, which previously was located in Santa Fe Springs, Calif., 10 miles to the north, the company said it selected the new building for its proximity to where most employees live, as well as for its burgeoning retail and restaurant environment.

Several of Memorex’s largest distribution partners, such as Wal-Mart, Best Buy and OfficeMax, have retail stores adjacent to the new Memorex location in this Los Angeles suburb.

Memorex was granted naming rights to the new building at 17777 Center Court Drive, in the Cerritos Towne Center, and occupies its top floor. The new phone number is 562-653-2800.

Towne Center is ‘an ideal location for Memorex,’ said Golacinski. ‘Several of our key retail customers have stores located right here, in the Center, and many of our other business partners are close by.’

Cerritos mayor Kappe welcomed the addition of Memorex to her city as ‘a great milestone for our community, demonstrating our charge to be at the cutting edge of new development and technology.’
