Hong Kong – Lenovo added
another of high-profile executive to its ranks today, former Sony CEO Nobuyuki
Idei.
Idei will join the PC maker as non-executive director,
replacing the outgoing James Coulter.
Lenovo said Idea’s presence and experience will strengthen
the company’s efforts in Japan.
Idei is the second-high profile addition to the Lenovo team
this month. On Sept. 16 Gianfranco
Lanci, Acer’s former CEO, was added as a consultant to develop and accelerate
Lenovo’s worldwide consumer business.
Lanci was dumped
by Acer’s board of directors in March.
