LAS VEGAS – Electrolux will make a big splash tomorrow with its return to the 2014 Kitchen/Bath Industry Show (KBIS), unveiling a new dishwasher and induction cooktop.
The company, which has not had a presence at the show since 2008, will also exhibit three new products in its Frigidaire line, a Gallery dishwasher, a Gallery 30-inch double electric wall oven and a new freezer.
Jack Truong, president/CEO of Electrolux Major Appliances North America, described the presentation as “by far our biggest showing of our best professional cooking and refrigeration technologies.”
The primary feature added to the Electrolux and Frigidaire dishwashers is a 30-minute wash cycle. This was added in response to research that noted that 57 percent people think the current wash cycle is too long.
The $1,099 Electrolux dishwasher, model EI- 24ID50QS, is part of the its Stainless Steel line and features IQ-Touch Controls, four target wash zones, ProClean with Satellite Spray Arm, soft grip racks, a stainless-steel tub and nine wash cycles with five options. It will ship in March.
The 36-inch induction cooktop, model EW36IC60LS, $2,199, has Power Assist technology that can boil water in 90 seconds, and the cooktop can adapt to different cookware sizes. It is available now.
The Frigidaire Gallery dishwasher, model FGID2474Q F/W/B, $799, uses the company’s OrbitClean Spray Arm and has a stainless steel tub and a smudge-proof stainless-steel exterior. It will ship in early March.
The new Gallery wall oven, model FGET3065P, $2,699, preheats in less than six minutes and features the company’s True Convection technology, One-Touch two-hour self-clean cycle and a smudge-proof exterior. A larger window was also added. It is available now.
The Frigidaire Classic Slate Upright Convertible 2-1 freezer, $989, can swap between freezer and refrigerator modes, is 32 inches wide by 65 7/8-inches deep by 26 inches deep. It is available now.
