DBL Appoints Sherman Replenishment Department Director

Scottsdale, Ariz. — DBL Distributing has appointed Lee Sherman to a newly created position, product replenishment director.

Sherman’s appointment follows the company’s announcement last week that it plans to transfer the majority of its warehouse operations to two larger facilities of parent company Ingram Micro this summer and lay off about 200 of its 500 current employees. At the time, DBL president Henry Chiarelli listed a number of results that were expected of the move, including a five-fold increase of the distributor’s available warehousing space.

In Sherman’s new role, the former Bluetooth senior buyer will lead the teams responsible for the replenishment of DBL’s more than 20,000 SKUs. According to DBL, his department will be responsible for managing inventory for all three of the company’s warehouses, located in Jonestown, Pa., Mira Loma, Calif., and Scottsdale, Ariz., through inventory and vendor forecasting, product and stock-level analysis, financial planning and inventory replenishment.

“Lee is a seasoned buyer with excellent leadership and analytical skills. His background of successfully managing complex product portfolios proves he is well qualified for this new position,” said Tim Coakley, merchandising and purchasing senior VP for DBL. “With an expertise in product purchasing and inventory management, Lee will be an excellent role model to the replenishment buyers and make this department very successful.”

In addition to his most recent experience with Bluetooth, Sherman also worked with companies Recoton and Go-Video.
