Crackle Movies
Come To FLO TV
LAS VEGAS — Qualcomm’s FLO TV
subsidiary has begun offering a channel
dedicated to catalog movies from
Sony-owned Crackle.com, the online
video-streaming site.
FLO TV is broadcasting the movies
back-to-back over a dedicated channel
to FLO TV’s handheld Personal Television,
in-vehicle A/V systems offered by
Audiovox, and FLO-TV-equipped cellphones
offered by AT&T Wireless.
The channel’s content is included at
no extra charge to a consumer’s existing
monthly subscription price.
Other planned FLO TV enhancements
include tiered subscription options
and TV-program downloads to
select FLO TV devices.
Wireless-Dealers
Association Forms
LAS VEGAS — A hybrid trade association
and buying consortium designed to
help independent cellular retailers compete
more effectively with national chains
and carrier-owned stores has formed.
The organization, the Wireless Convergence
Network (WiCON), was
founded by executives from The Mobile
Solution, a 375-store wireless chain
that was one of T-Mobile’s largest exclusive
dealers before it was sold off last
year, said WiCON CEO and co-founder
Scott Tibbets.
The group will offer marketing programs
designed for smaller dealers,
discounted retail support services, cellular
accessories discounts and openmarket
handsets, said Tibbets.
