CEDIA Postpones Forum, May Co-Locate with NAHB

Indianapolis — CEDIA announced it is postponing its annual Electronic Lifestyles Forum originally scheduled for April 1-4 in New Orleans and said it is in discussions with the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) to co-locate the forum with NAHB’s Custom Home Builders’ Symposium/Design Institute, held later this year.

CEDIA did not give a reason for postponing the forum but chairman Ken Erdmann said, “We understand the struggles that many CEDIA members are dealing with in today’s economic climate. By postponing the forum and possibly co-locating the forum with NAHB’s Custom Builders’ Symposium/Design Institute in the future, we have ample opportunity to create an even stronger event.”

Held for four years, the CEDIA Electronic Lifestyles Forum was created to educate contractors, architects, builders, etc., on integrating home solutions seamlessly into the design of the home

CEDIA said it and NAHB share many of the same members, so co-locating their events would allow the organizers to create new solutions together and offer greater resources.

CEDIA and NAHB are now in discussions to determine the viability of co-locating the two events.
