Two reports have surfaced of iPhone 8 Pluses literally coming apart at the seams. The incidents, which reportedly took place in Taiwan and Japan, may be traced to a buildup of gases within the batteries, which caused them to swell and separate the phones. The events, if true, come one year after Samsung’s ill-fated Galaxy Note7 was pulled from the market due to a battery-related fire hazard.
