Hong Kong Gears Up For A Tech-Packed October With Four Major Technology Fairs

City is set to shine as the ultimate destination for those seeking the latest in electronics and lighting technology

This October, Hong Kong will transform into a global hub for technology, innovation, and design as the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) hosts four major tech fairs, bringing together over 6,200 exhibitors from 27 countries and regions. From AI-powered robotics to cutting-edge lighting solutions, the city is set to shine as the ultimate destination for industry leaders, innovators, and buyers seeking the latest in electronics and lighting technology.

The series kicks off from 13–16 October with the Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Autumn Edition) and electronicAsia at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC). These events will be followed by the Hong Kong International Lighting Fair (Autumn Edition) from 27–30 October and the Hong Kong International Outdoor and Tech Light Expo from 28–31 October at AsiaWorld-Expo.

Electronics Fair: AI, Robotics, and the Future of Technology

The 45th Electronics Fair (Autumn Edition) and the 28th electronicAsia will showcase more than 3,200 exhibitors from 20 countries, highlighting innovations across AI, robotics, digital entertainment, and the silver economy.

A centerpiece of the fair is RoboPark, featuring over 30 live demonstration sessions where companies like DEEP Robotics, BrainCo, and PaXini Tech showcase cutting-edge robots for commercial, rehabilitation, and everyday applications. From quadruped Robodogs to bionic prosthetic hands, attendees can see how robotics is reshaping industries and enhancing human life.

A new RISE Avenue will spotlight emerging tech brands, while the Adventure Hub presents electrified vehicles, including classic cars converted with oil-to-electric technology. The Hall of Fame brings together 500 world-renowned electronics brands, including newcomers like AIWA and innovators like Rapoo Technology and Philips, offering a first look at the latest smart devices and lifestyle tech.

For immersive experiences, the fair features a VR- and AR-driven Immersive Experience Zone, while special activities like stamp collections and social media challenges make exploring the exhibition both fun and rewarding.

Lighting Fairs: Where Innovation Meets Design

Following the electronics showcases, the Autumn Lighting Fair and the Outdoor and Tech Light Expo highlight smart, sustainable, and award-winning lighting solutions. Under the theme “Illuminated Designs for a Smarter Future”, the fairs feature over 3,000 exhibitors from 20+ countries, including top global brands such as Casambi, TUYA Smart, and Moorgen.

Visitors can explore zones like the Hall of Connected Lighting, showcasing 60 brands offering smart lighting ecosystems, and the Hall of Aurora, featuring 540 top-tier brands. Highlights include innovative LED systems used in iconic projects such as Gardens by the Bay, the Sanxingdui Museum, the BBC London Headquarters, and Hong Kong’s M+ Museum.

Hands-on experiences include AI-powered smart homes, wellness-focused lighting for seniors, and immersive creative spaces that fuse art, architecture, and technology. The fairs also host thought-provoking forums such as the Connected Lighting Forum and Innovative Lighting Design Forum, where industry experts explore smart city innovations, sustainability, and the integration of lighting into everyday life.

A Global Stage for Innovation and Collaboration

This year’s fairs embrace a hybrid “EXHIBITION+” model, combining physical exhibitions with online matchmaking via the Click2Match platform. Exhibitors and buyers can participate virtually or on-site, maximizing business opportunities and expanding global reach.

Sophia Chong, Acting Executive Director of the HKTDC, emphasized, “These fairs provide a platform for the industry to showcase innovative achievements, foster collaboration, and leverage Hong Kong’s platform to ‘go global’, explore new markets and capture new business opportunities.”

With technology, creativity, and innovation converging in one of the world’s most dynamic cities, October in Hong Kong promises to be a showcase of the future—from robots brewing coffee to lighting designs illuminating our everyday lives.
