Sony VP Jim Tulley Dies At 51

The 28-year company veteran passed unexpectedly on Saturday.

Sony sales VP Jim Tulley, a 28-year veteran of the company, died unexpectedly at his home on Saturday. He was 51.

Tulley most recently led Sony’s digital imaging sales team, covering all U.S. retail channels.

He began his career with the company in customer service, and rose through the ranks to regional manager, then director, and eventually VP, variously serving as point man to Best Buy, online accounts and digital imaging retailers.

“Jim was a constant inspiration and we will always remember him for his enthusiasm, optimism, generosity, humor and visionary ideas,” said Sony Electronics president/COO Mike Fasulo. “His significant contributions to Sony, our industry and society at large are irreplaceable.”

Tulley leaves behind a wife and four children.

Visitation will be on May 15, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at DeFiore Jorgensen Funeral Home, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley, Ill. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on May 16, at Light of Christ Lutheran Church, 100 Hanson Road, Algonquin, Ill.

Following the service, Tulley’s life will be celebrated at Golf Club of Illinois, 1575 Edgewood, Algonquin.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family, to be used for his children’s college educations.
