P.C.’s Zimmerman Joins hhgregg

Indianapolis — Industry veteran Keith Zimmerman has joined hhgregg as chief merchandising officer.

He held the same post at P.C. Richard & Son for the past seven months, and succeeds Jeffrey Haines, who left hhgregg in November.

Zimmerman is most closely associated with American TV & Appliance, the big-box Wisconsin chain that shuttered last April. He worked there for nearly 25 years, rising to the rank of executive VP and chief CE and majap merchant, and joined P.C. Richard in May.

Zimmerman becomes hhgregg’s third chief merchant in two years, following Haines’ resignation last month after less than 19 months on the job. His departure followed a dismal second-quarter earnings report, in which the company posted a $10.4 million loss and an 11.4 percent decline in same-store sales.

Zimmerman assumes his new post on Jan. 5.
