Richer Named NEC President

Chicago — NEC Display Solutions of America has promoted Pierre Richer from executive VP to president and COO, the company said Thursday.

“The display industry continues to change rapidly and Pierre is the perfect choice to provide the compelling vision that will enable NEC to enhance its standing as the market leader,” stated Nobuya Sakagami, NEC Display Solutions of America CEO.

Richer had handled sales, marketing and service offerings for the professional display systems company in his previous role. He had also introduced new revenue opportunities through the channel, and played a key role in the successful merger of NEC’s projector and plasma business unit with the desktop and large-screen LCD business unit.

Earlier, he had been visual systems division senior VP and general manager. Prior to joining NEC, Richer had worked at InFocus and Canon Canada. He attended the University of Montreal.
