NFM Extends Pact With Assurant

Omaha, Neb. — Nebraska Furniture Mart (NFM) marked its 10th anniversary with Assurant Solutions by extending its contract with the extended-service administrator.

The new multiyear pact covers underwriting and administration of extended-service contracts on appliances and electronics, the partners said.

NFM chief merchant Jody Rusnak noted, “Assurant Solutions has been a valuable partner, working hand-in-hand with us as the economy and our business has evolved over the years. Flexibility and the ability to innovate will be an asset as we continue to grow our company in the future.”

Added Assurant senior VP Jeff Unterreiner: “We’ve developed a successful partnership with Nebraska Furniture Mart over the past 10 years that has helped each of our businesses adapt and grow successfully. Working together, we’ve built an exceptional customer experience, which has enhanced loyalty and increased lifetime value. We look forward to continuing our collaboration.”

Assurant will continue to support the mega retailer’s extended-service contracts which originate both online and in stores, including NFM’s newest location in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, set to open this spring. The facility is touted as the largest home-furnishings store in North America, with a total of nearly 1.9 million square feet and more than 560,000 square feet of showroom space.

Assurant Solutions develops, underwrites, markets and administers specialty insurance, including mobile device protection, extended-service contracts and other risk-management solutions through collaborative relationships with mobile carriers, CE and appliance manufacturers, retailers, leading financial institutions and other entities. The Atlanta-based company maintains 25 locations worldwide, and its corporate parent, New York-based Assurant, is a Fortune 500 company and a member of the S&P 500 with about $30 billion in assets and $9 billion in annual revenue.
