CES 2016: Unlocked Smartphones, 4K TVs Are In The Polaroid Picture

Polaroid is showing its line of unlocked smartphones at CES 2016, including the Snap, as well as its 4K TV line.

With a Polaroid unlocked smartphone, users can upgrade or replace broken devices without pricey contracts and have the flexibility of choosing the network and plan they want without any commitment, said the company. Also, these smartphones are compatible with SIM cards from all major GSM networks, including AT&T, T-Mobile and many others. Favorite movies, music, books, apps and games can be enjoyed on Google Play. Other features include a six-inch FullHD IPS display (1,080 by 1,920); Android 5.1, Lollipop (upgradeable to Android 6.0, Marshmallow); octa-core 64-bit processor; 3GB RAM/32GB storage; MicroSD card slot; 13MP rear camera with two-tone LED flash; 8-megapixel front camera with front-facing selfie flash; 3,500 mAh battery plus external 5,200 mAh power bank; GPS, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth; dual SIM (access two different phone numbers simultaneously). Bands include: GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850, 900, 1800 and 1900 MHz; UMTS/HSPA+ 850, 1700/AWS, 1900 and 2100 MHz; 4G LTE   2, 4, 5, 7 and 17. Available now, Polaroid unlocked smartphones are priced at $249.

The Snap unlocked smartphone offers five-, 5.5- and six-inch HD, IPS displays (720 by 1,280); Android 5.1, Lollipop (upgradable to Android 6.0, Marshmallow); quad-core, 64-bit processor; 1GB RAM/8GB storage or 2GB RAM/16GB storage; MicroSD card slot; 13MP rear camera with two-tone LED flash; 5MP front camera with front-facing selfie flash; GPS, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth; and dual SIM (access two different phones simultaneously). It offers the same bands as noted above. Available now, the Snap unlocked smartphone is priced at $129.

Polaroid’s 4K TV line includes 40-, 43-, 48-, 50-, 55- and 65-inch sizes, with 120hz refresh rates and 4K UHD (3,840 by 2,160 pixels). The 4K TVs have three HDMI inputs for optimal digital video and audio performance, built-in decoder for streaming 4K content; and an upgrade design. Available in Spring, pricing of the 4K models has yet to be announced.
