Office Depot and its OfficeMax subset will enter the pre-holiday promotional fray this Sunday with the first of two “early Black Friday” sales.
The events are being complemented online by a series of pre-Cyber Monday sales, held each Monday in November.
The promotions are part of the office-supply chains’ “Gear Up for Gifting” holiday campaign, which also includes holiday-themed accessories and free delivery for online orders of $35 or more.
“Office Depot offers products and services to help holiday shoppers ‘Gear Up for Gifting’,” said chief marketing officer Tim Rea. “We’re excited to share gift collections that make it convenient to shop and give personalized gifts this holiday season.”
The private-label gift-collection accessories include holiday-themed notecards, ear buds, phone cases and tablet sleeves.
Next week’s early Black Friday deals will include:
*a Toshiba laptop bundle for $330 (from $550) with Windows 10 laptop, Microsoft Office 365, 16GB USB flash drive and wireless mouse;
*a Toshiba Satellite C55D laptop for $220 after $130 instant savings and $50 mail-in Visa pre-paid card;
*a Lexar 32GB USB 3.0 flash drive for $10 (from $40); and
*all printers on sale including the HP Envy 5534 for $80 (from $130, in-store only).
The following week’s sales (Nov. 15-21) will include:
*“the lowest-price ever” — $350 — for a Toshiba Satellite C55 laptop with 8 GB memory and Intel Core i3 processor (from $550 after $150 instant savings and $50 mail-in Visa pre-paid card);
*a Lenovo Tab 2 A8 Tablet for $100 (from $160); and
*half-off HP’s Envy 4500 printer ($50, from $100).

Office Depot merged with OfficeMax in 2013, and is now awaiting an OK from the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to be acquired by No. 1 office-supply chain Staples for $6.3 billion by year’s end.
