Sharp Taps Todd MacGregor, Jae Park For Sales Team

Sharp Electronics Marketing Company of America (SEMCA) has sharpened its appliance focus by adding industry veterans Todd MacGregor and Jae Park to its sales team.

MacGregor, previously channel sales manager for Toshiba America Information Systems, will serve as sales director, while Park, formerly operations manager of P.C. Richard & Son’s New Jersey builder division, was named regional account manager.

Reporting to Sharp’s sales and marketing senior VP Peter Weedfald, the duo will be responsible for furthering retail relationships and sales strategy for the company’s home appliances line; maximizing  sales potential; and managing regional account assignments across merchandising, supply chain, marketing and e-commerce.

Sharp’s appliance lineup includes its Microwave Drawer, Plasmacluster air purifiers, SuperSteam+ combination steam and convection oven, and a complete selection of countertop microwave ovens.

“We are keenly focused on accelerating our market growth by leveraging our Sharp brand muscle, our smart product portfolio and our best of breed human capital,” said Weedfald. “We are fortunate to have both Todd and Jae join Team Sharp to help us maximize market opportunities, to elevate and execute this mission and exceed expectations for our important customers and partners.”

For MacGregor, the new assignment represents a homecoming: prior to Toshiba, he spent 10 years with Mahwah, N.J.-based Sharp, holding various sales management positions including national sales manager of the Business Solutions group and national sales manager for retail, distribution and Pro AV.

Park, meanwhile, brings more than 20 years of experience in sales and marketing for CE and home appliances. Prior to P.C. Richard, Jae served as senior product marketing manager at Haier America Trading, where he provided strategic and visionary leadership to drive revenue and market share growth for the refrigeration category. Before that he spent more than 15 years at LG Electronics USA, where he was promoted to senior sales manager and chief account manager, and was chosen to manage all aspects of channel sales strategy and account penetration, including pricing and promotional tactics for the P.C. Richard account.

SEMCA is the U.S. consumer electronics arm of Sharp Electronics Corp. (SEC), the U.S. sales subsidiary of Japan’s Sharp Corp. Foxconn acquired a majority stake in the parent company this month.
