Overland Park, Kan. - Sprint
expanded its line of HTC-made Evo 4G smartphones with the first Evo phone
promoted as a worldphone.

At $99, the Evo Design 4G is Sprint's fourth Evo 4G phone and
first to roam in 2.1GHz HSPA+ markets in foreign countries as well as in quadband
GSM/EDGE mode. It becomes available Oct. 23, joining three other Evo 4G models
priced from $99 to $199 and an HTC-made Evo View 4G tablet.

Like the $199 Evo 3D currently at
the top of Sprint's Evo phone lineup, the Design 4G features a 1.2GHz processor and quarter-HD
display, but at 4 inches vs. 4.3 inches. The Design 4G is the slimmest and
lightest Evo to date, at 0.47 inches and 5.2 ounces, respectively.

Features include Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) OS, DLNA to
output HD video to a TV, aluminum
unibody design, dual 5/1.3-megapixel cameras, 3G/4G Mobile Hotspot supporting up to eight Wi-Fi
devices, Wi-Fi b/g/n
capability, simultaneous
voice and data capability in 4G areas, HTC
Watch service to download TV shows and movies, stereo Bluetooth 3.0, included 8GB MicroSD
card, and removable
1520 mAh lithium ion battery providing up to six hours of talk time.

 Some of the carrier's other
smartphones also roam into foreign 2.1GHz HSPA+ networks, including the new
iPhone 4S. The company's 4G models also roam in mobile WiMAX 4G in Taiwan and
Jamaica, where Sprint has roaming agreements.
