Poway, Calif. - Gateway hired four new executives, including two veterans from clothing retailer the Gap, as part of the company's ongoing reorganization.
The former Gap personnel are William Parker and Monica Gout. They are expected to bolster the company's brick and mortar and online retail efforts. Parker will take over the newly created position of president and general manager of the Gateway Country Store chain. Previously he was senior vice president of Banana Republic, a division of the Gap. Gout is the general manager of Gateway.com, she had been vice president for the retailers e-commerce effort Gap Direct.
On the hardware side Gateway has brought in John Engel as general manager and senior vice president for its desktop PC business and Scott Weinbrandt as general manager of Gateway's server business unit. Engel had been executive vice president for PerkinElmer and Weinbrandt was a technology consultant for Solana Capital Partners.
