– Dell today introduced its Inspiron Z laptop line and two new XPS desktops.
The 14-inch Inspiron 14z and 15-inch Inspiron 15z are about 1-inch
thick and can be equipped with a variety of Intel Pentium Core 2 Solo
ultra-low-voltage and Core 2 Duo processors, hard drives with capacities up to
500GB, 8GB of DDR3 1,066MHz memory and a DVD burner.
Options include a four-cell, four-hour battery or a six-cell,
six-hour battery.
The models are available in black or cherry with a starting price
of $599.
On the desktop side of the business, Dell introduced the new
Studio XPS 8000 and 9000. Starting price is $799.
They utilize Intel’s new Corei5 quad-core and i7 quad-core
processors. The units are intended for high-end gaming, video and photo
editing. Each has integrated 7.1-channel surround sound for home-theater
playback.
Options include a Blu-ray Disc player or burner and 3-D
capabilities for enhanced gaming performance.
