Magellan Cashing In On Triple Sevens

Santa Clara, Calif. – Magellan expanded its selection of portable navigation devices (PNDs) with large screens with the introduction of three 7-inch models priced from a suggested $179 to $229.

The RoadMate navigators are targeted to drivers of trucks, SUVs and other large vehicles, as well as to any driver who needs a larger display.

The $179-suggested 9400-LM, $199 9412T-LM, and $229 9465T-LMB are available at Amazon.com and MagellanGPS.com .

All three come with lifetime map updates, but the 9412T-LM adds free real-time traffic alerts, and the 9465T-LMB adds traffic alerts and Bluetooth connectivity, which turns the PND into a hands-free speakerphone.

All three also share multiple other features, including traffic-camera alerts by PhantomAlert; speed-limit warnings; junction view and highway lane assist to show freeway-signs images and arrows that drivers to the correct lane; and landmark guidance, which verbally to prompts drivers to turn at more noticeable landmarks rather than by street name. Best parking provides parking-garage locations, hours of operation and directions to the entrance.

The touchscreen automatically adjust color and contrast for clear day or night viewing.

Other shared features include multi-destination routing, one-touch favorites menu, 7 million points of interests (POI), and highway exit POIs.
