Mobile Electronics Changes Name To Mobile Electronics Association

Mobile Electronics, the industry organization for 12-volt retailers, announced it has changed its name to the Mobile Electronics Association (MEA).

This is not the first name change for the group, which was previously known as the Mobile Electronics Retailers Association (MERA).

“In 2014 we officially retired the MERA (Mobile Electronics Retailers Association) brand and consolidated our three entities under the Mobile Electronics corporate brand,” said Chris Cook, president. “And while Mobile Electronics magazine and KnowledgeFest retained strong recognition, the identity of the membership was lost in the shuffle. MEA is a strong identity that also represents a broadened approach to membership.”

The group also debuted a new logo and website, Join-MEA.com, designed to provide retailers and vendors with information on the benefits of membership.

MEA, based in North Andover, Mass., claims more than 1,100 dealers, installers and manufacturers among its ranks. It aims to provide a forum and voice for the mobile specialist channel and manage shared business resources and solutions for its retail members. It also promotes education and peer networking with its magazine and KnowledgeFest trade show.

The new logo (shown above) will be formally presented at the upcoming KnowledgeFest trade show and conference, Aug. 20-22, in Dallas.
