Garmin To Upgrade Nav App
OLATHE, KAN. — Garmin plans in the coming weeks
to add new features to its StreetPilot OnDemand
navigation app for iPhones, including integration
with Facebook, Foursquare and Wikipedia.
Also new for the subscription-based app will be a
variety of voices or vehicle icons to choose from as
well as improved 3D renderings of buildings.
By integrating Facebook and Foursquare, the app
will display locations from these networks on the
map and let users check in on arrival at their destination.
Clicking on a Wikipedia icon on the map will
reveal information about a location.
The app accesses Garmin’s Cloud-based navigation
service at an annual subscription of $29.99.
