Hoffman Estates, Ill. – Sears Home Appliance Showrooms, a specialty chain that was spun off from Sears Holdings last year, is three months into a store remodeling program.
The new showroom design features a completely revamped interior intended to make shopping for white goods “an easier experience for customers,” the retailer said. Updated sales floor presentations include new dishwashing, wall oven and floor care displays, and a simplified merchandising layout that dedicates more space to key lines like built-in cooking, cooktops and laundry, including additional top- and front-load high-efficiency laundry pairs.
More than 60 of the chain’s 70-plus showrooms have been remodeled since August, and the updated format will be used for all new locations.
“With our new showroom model, we’re not increasing the size of our sales floors but [are] better utilizing our floor space to expand our merchandise offerings and showcase our products,” said Susan Hilsenbeck, merchandising division VP for Sears Hometown and Outlet Stores, the chain’s parent. “This, in turn, will help our dedicated sales force to provide customers with a higher level of service.”
To celebrate its new look, the chain will hold a nationwide promotion this weekend. The deals, which apply to goods priced over $499 and require the use of a Sears credit card, include 50 percent off all Kenmore, Kenmore Elite and Kenmore Pro wall ovens; 35 percent off all other Kenmore cooking appliances; and up to 30 percent off all other Kenmore appliances.
The stores also carry such open lines as Bosch, Frigidaire, GE, Samsung, Maytag, KitchenAid and Whirlpool, and offer a price-match policy and installation and repair services.
Sears Home Appliance Showroom is one of several retail formats within Sears Hometown and Outlet Stores, a 1,250-store majap, tools, and lawn and garden specialty chain that was spun off from Sears Holdings one year ago this month.
