Saints WR Kenny Stills Named Vizio “Top Value Performer”

Irvine, CA — January 21, 2015 VIZIO, America’s #1 Smart TV company1, today announced New Orleans wide receiver Kenny Stills as the winner of the 2014 VIZIO Top Value Performer award.  Over the last two weeks, Stills has tirelessly campaigned for fan votes across social and broadcast media through a series of interviews touting his candidacy. As a result, fans from coast-to-coast rallied to vote the second-year player most deserving of this season’s award. For the eighth consecutive year, the VIZIO Top Value Performer award recognizes the professional football player whose on-field performance most exceeds expectations and the value of their annual base salary as voted on by the fans.  By clinching the most fan votes, Stills beat out candidates such as Pittsburgh’s Le’Veon Bell, Denver’s C.J. Anderson, Baltimore’s Justin Forsett and Cincinnati’s Mohamed Sanu to secure the award.

Stills built on a solid rookie campaign by developing a consistent rapport with his quarterback.  During the 2014 season, he raked in 931 receiving yards and averaged 14.8 yards per catch. The 2013 fifth-round pick instantly improved the New Orleans offense by giving the team a legitimate deep threat after signing with a base salary of $495,000.

“It’s such an honor to win the VIZIO Top Value Performer award and I can’t begin to thank my fans enough for their support,” said Stills. “All the finalists had fantastic seasons and were certainly deserving, and sharing this win with the fans and my teammates is really something special.”

Partnering with former general manager, current pro-football analyst and commentator Charley Casserly, VIZIO determined this year’s top five candidates based on their regular season performances, statistics and the role they’ve played in the success of their respective teams. These factors were measured against their base salaries to nominate this year’s finalists.

“The VIZIO Top Value Performer program always spurs some great social engagement and this year was no different,” said Lily Knowles, Vice President of Product Marketing, VIZIO. “Kenny did a great job engaging fans to drive votes and awareness through social media during his campaign.  Congratulations to Kenny not only for a great 2014 season, but also for being selected by the fans for the 2014 VIZIO Top Value Performer award.”

The 2014 finalists were voted on by fans at VIZIO.com/TVP from January 5 to January 19. Fans were also encouraged to spur discussion by using each player’s custom TVP hashtag on social media. With each vote, fans received a chance to enter a giveaway to win a new VIZIO P-Series Ultra HD Smart TV.  Members of VIZIO’s online social community – VIZIO Fandemonium – also earned points for their votes which are redeemable for prizes like signed memorabilia, VIZIO products, digital downloads and once-in-a-lifetime experiences.

Similar to this season’s Top Value Performer candidates, VIZIO has established itself as one of America’s leading consumer electronics brands after emerging on the scene in 2002. Currently ranked the #1 Smart TV1 and #1 sound bar2 company in America, VIZIO has continued to maximize value for consumers while raising standards of quality, design, performance and customer service, all to deliver a beautifully simple entertainment experience.
