The PMX-0 is IPX6-rated for water spray intrusion protection and features a conformal coated PCB circuit board protecting vital electronics. The ultra-compact source unit comes in at just 2.6 in. H x 4.1 in. W while featuring a water resistant rotary knob encoder with white LED button illumination and front mounted sub level controls, front/rear/sub RCA output connections, Bluetooth audio streaming for Apple and Android devices, easy panel mount installation, simple software upgrades, as well as being compatible with our PAUX panel mount extension port which adds USB charging and auxiliary audio input options at your fingertips.

The true marine grade compliant 6.5-inch PM2652 coaxial full range speaker features a one-inch aluminum dome tweeter designed for high output and is coated to protect it against the elements and UV radiation, preventing it from breaking down over time. The tweeter is bridge mounted over a mineral-filled polypropylene midrange cone giving the speaker a component quality sound and allowing for a full midrange driver.
“The cone is attached to the Centrex® Plastic injection molded frame by a Thermo-Plastic Elastomer (TPE) surround with salt, fog, and UV inhibitors, and moisture, tear, and fatigue resistant Aramid fiber spider assembly,” Braaten continued. “This is driven by our matched motor magnetic structure with integrated aluminum heat sinking shorting ring for maximum excursion and output. Additionally, the speaker features fully insulated flex lead wires, corrosion resistant gold-plated speaker terminals with integrated expansion connections for our PM2T-S tweeter kit and a fully sealed 12dB/Octave crossover and stainless steel hardware.”

The PM2652W features a 6.5-inch woofer and one-inch bridge mounted tweeter in its own high density polyethylene enclosure, protected by a stainless steel grill. The speaker system comes with a surface mount bracket that is also compatible with most Malibu wing-style tower assemblies and all hardware is chrome plated or stainless steel. Security Torx hardware prevents theft while an included safety lanyard protects from loss or damage in the event the set screw assembly loosens over time. An optional tubular style mounting clamp assembly is also available, thePM-CL1 (white) or PM-CL1B (black) and can accommodate tube sizes from 1.5 in. – 2.75 in.

“Larger marine entertainment systems are often centered around a multi-function display (MFD) unit using software configured using the NMEA2K standards,” explained Jake Braaten, Rockford’s V.P. of Product Development & Engineering. “The PMX-CAN interface allows interconnection between our PMX-8BB marine source unit and a Multi-Function Display (MFD) system using this entertainment standard. This interface allows the user to control basic functions of the source unit directly from the MFD such as play, pause, track up/down, and source change as well as more advance functions and source specific options.”
The PMX-CAN translates commands from the MFD system into something the PMX-8BB understands allowing the user to control the unit remotely while getting direct informational feedback regarding the audio selection and source. “The interface allows control of both basic and advanced radio functions such as power, volume, and source selection as well as source specific functions for the radio, including Bluetooth, Pandora, SiriusXM, and USB inputs,” Braaten added. “This allows the user to make changes and adjustment to the audio system without having to go to the source unit itself.”
