Hexoskin Expands Biometrics Clothing Line, Introduces the Arctic Smart Shirt

MONTREAL– November 24, 2014-Hexoskin, the biometric smart shirt that provides users with in-depth insight regarding their physical training, sleep and daily activities, is expanding their product line to include the Arctic Smart Shirt.  The Arctic Smart Shirt is the World’s first cold weather Biometric Smart Shirt.  The sensor filled Hexoskin shirt is the perfect base layer for optimum training in cold weather.

The Arctic Smart Shirt provides exceptional heat insulation, true breathability, odor-resistance and blocking of fabric pulling and abrasion, all while providing the same high-quality Hexoskin body metrics their shirts are known for. The shirt is designed be used over long periods of time without causing irritation to the skin and delivers comfort similar to Merino wool.

“Athletes train year-round and we wanted to create the ultimate base layer that would allow them to train smarter even in the cold weather months,” said Pierre-Alexandre Fournier, Co-Founder and CEO of Hexoskin.  “With the addition of the Arctic Smart Shirt, we yet again prove that we can continue to grow as a company and provide smart garments to our customers that live up to their needs for information, style and comfort.”

Essentially a wearable precision lab, Hexoskin provides its users with lab-quality metrics when performance truly matters.  Hexoskin, with the support of NASA and the Canadian Space Agency, created sensors made of textile, leaving almost no hardware in the shirt.

A small Bluetooth device is connected to the fabric sensors and placed in the shirt’s built-in side pocket during activity and sleep.  The shirt is extremely light, warm, comfortable, and provides users with measurements they simply cannot receive from regular fitness trackers.

In addition to measuring basic metrics such as heart rate, step count, sleep duration and calories burned, the device also measures heart rate recovery, heart rate variability, breathing rate, breathing volume, activity level, acceleration, cadence and much more. These metrics give users the information they need to surpass their fitness and athletic goals. By reviewing the data before, during and after workout sessions, users can exert maximum training effort, while still avoiding fatigue, overtraining and injuries.

The Arctic Smart Shirt will be available in December and will retail for $199. For more information or to order today, visit www.hexoskin.com.
