Castleberry ISD Selects BenQ RP Series Interactive Flat Panels for Remodeled Middle School

BenQ’s Education IFPs Solve the Fundamental Five Formula for Quality Instruction While Boosting Collaboration and Success in the Classroom

COSTA MESA, Calif. — Aug. 5, 2020 — BenQ, an internationally renowned provider of visual display and collaboration solutions, today announced Castleberry Independent School District (ISD) in Fort Worth, Texas, is continuing to replace obsolete whiteboards across the district with the company’s award-winning RP Series interactive flat panels (IFP) for education. Initially selected three years ago for the district’s elementary schools, the RP Series are now being installed at Irma Marsh Middle School. The panels not only provide teachers with the features they need to boost collaboration, but also the freedom to teach from anywhere.

“We have been focusing on the Fundamental Five by Sean Cain and how we can teach in the power zone,” said Abigail Offenbaker, the district’s language arts and social studies innovation leader for secondary education. “With the BenQ IFPs, our teachers are no longer tethered to their podiums or desks by an HDMI cord. They can take their laptop, or whatever device they’re working from, and teach from the power zone and interact with students.”

The Fundamental Five’s power zone works from the idea that students are more successful and learn better when a teacher is instructing them in smaller groups and moving around the room. This way the teacher can monitor understanding and answer questions immediately. It also promotes engagement and collaboration among students. BenQ’s RP Series RP7501K displays perfectly complement this approach, allowing teachers to intuitively transition their classrooms from using passive whiteboard technology to display technology that creates an active classroom in which students interact and engage with new learning concepts, and with little to zero training required.

Designed with health and engagement in mind, the BenQ RP Series RP7501K UHD 75-inch panel is part of the first and only IFP family to offer a certified germ-resistant touch screen along with Smart Eye-Care technology. BenQ’s Smart Eye-Care is a combination of innovations that includes Flicker-Free, Low Blue Light, and antiglare features that protect users’ eyes without glasses or other aids. It allows 20 points of simultaneous touch to accommodate multiple users interacting with content. In addition, the RP Series IFPs’ built-in tools are designed to boost class collaboration right out of the box. Among those tools, the IFPs’ InstaShare wireless collaboration solution and EZWrite 5.0 platform are essential for Irma Marsh Middle School.

InstaShare smoothly streams visual or audio files and full HD videos as well as wirelessly mirrors any users’ laptops, Chromebooks, or mobile devices. With InstaShare, teachers can present without connecting to HDMI video cables, giving them the opportunity to work from anywhere in the room or even remotely. Up to 16 users can connect to InstaShare at a time, with up to four sharing the screen simultaneously. When used in conjunction with the BenQ IFP, they can also access and control their laptops directly from the IFP screen with two-way touch control.

Regardless of which RP Series IFP model each school has rolled out over the years, BenQ is built on a system of interoperability and flexibility. No matter which IFP teachers use, they can access BenQ’s collection of free learning apps. In addition, every IFP features an Account Management System (AMS), which gives teachers convenient access to their personalized settings and files from any IFP. The Device Management System (DMS) allows IT and technology staff to remotely control, monitor, maintain, and upgrade any IFP.

The AMS also supports near field communication (NFC) technology. NFC allows teachers to use any IFP in any of Castleberry’s schools to directly access their personal system settings and folders by simply scanning their personal ID card. It also offers instant access to their G Suite account, as well as any other major cloud storage services, without having to enter a password.

“School districts all over the nation are entering the next phase of their technology evolution, replacing limited whiteboard technology with our affordable RP Series education IFPs, which fully and truly serve staff and students,” said Carly Burton-Sallay, digital marketing manager at BenQ America Corp. “Castleberry ISD serves as a great three-year-long testimony of how our easy-to-use IFPs adapt to the needs of both primary and secondary classrooms while helping streamline monitoring and management tasks for IT and tech staff.”
