ProSource Sets Ambitious 2016 Agenda

ProSource, the $4.5 billion A/V specialty wing of the BrandSource buying group, has laid out an ambitious game plan for further growth in the new year.

The agenda, shared with group members and vendors following its annual principals and buyers meeting at CES 2016, calls for a renewed focus on premium 4K and OLED displays; a major push behind DTS PlayFi, Bose and Heos wireless multiroom audio; and an emphasis on mid-market opportunities in home automation.

The dealer/integration group, led by president/CEO Dave Workman, also plans to edit its vendor portfolio and explore niche opportunities within a smaller brand mix.

“ProSource had a very successful 2015 as we experienced significant growth with our vendor partners as well as setting in motion key initiatives to further develop the group for the benefit of our membership,” Workman said. “We look forward to continuing this forward momentum into 2016.”

Those initiatives included recent alliances with CI Edge, a buying group for commercial integrators, and the Power Audio Video Group, a Canadian rep management and marketing firm for CE, appliance and IT businesses and retailers. ProSource said it plans to further develop and leverage the new partnerships, while also pursuing growth through new memberships with dealers that provide a good strategic fit.

In what may have been a good omen for the year to come, the group’s annual CES bash at Bally’s, sponsored by LG, DTS and Klipsch, drew record crowds, ProSource reported.
