Newegg Opens Midwest Warehouse

Los Angeles – E-commerce retailer Newegg officially opened its new high-tech warehouse and shipping facility Friday in Indianapolis.

Newegg said the center will add jobs and provide customers with “greatly improved service.”

The new facility features cutting-edge package-picking technologies that streamline the order-fulfillment process. The warehouse encompasses a half-million square feet and can handle more than 5,000 products and 3,000 orders per day, Newegg said. Once all aspects of the facility are fully operational, inventory will increase to more than 20,000 products with a processing capacity of more than 12,000 orders every day.

“The opening of this fulfillment center is a great development for new and current customers of Newegg,” said Soren Mills, Newegg North America chief marketing officer. “We’re very grateful for the enthusiastic reception Indianapolis has given Newegg and look forward to providing better, quicker service to Newegg customers throughout the Midwest.”

Newegg estimated the opening will allow about 45 million people in the Midwestern U.S. to get orders faster. In addition to Indiana, customers in Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Ohio, Wisconsin and West Virginia will see the greatest benefit, with noticeably shorter delivery times, the company said.
