CEDIA has announced that Google will host the keynote at the 2020 CEDIA Technology & Business Summits being held in the United States and Canada. As an added value, the first 40 attendees at the Tech Summit keynote in the 14 scheduled markets will receive a Google Nest Mini.
Adeel Tufail, Google national account manager, will deliver the keynote, which will focus on creating a home that is helpful, contextual, and accessible.
“Google has an exciting vision for what the future of home technology could look like, and how technology in the home will ultimately take care of the people in it,” says Giles Sutton, CEDIA senior vice president of industry engagement. “They’re a great fit for the Tech Summit audience and attendees will get a lot out of what they have to share.”
In addition to the keynote, Tech Summit attendees also have an opportunity to take a newly-developed two-part course on cybersecurity. The first session will help attendees identify threats and opportunities to protect client systems. The second session will focus on assessing risk and identifying policies from the technical side.
“We based this course development on consistent member feedback,” says Samantha Ventura, CEDIA vice president of education & training. “Everyone is very concerned about the topic of cybersecurity, and while CEDIA offers robust training on building the home network, we found that our members needed further resources to help them approach it from a business perspective.”
