Ridgefield Park, N.J. — C&A Marketing has reopened the first Calumet Photographic location following its acquisition of the digital imaging chain last month.
The store, located in Oak Brook, Ill., was one of the bankrupt chain’s newer and most successful locations, C&A said.
“The Oak Brook location was the best representation of the thinking Calumet should have deployed chain-wide,” said Chaim Pikarski, C&A’s marketing executive VP.
C&A, a distributor and reseller that also produces Polaroid-licensed cameras and accessories, bought Calumet in a bankruptcy auction, much as it did two years ago with Ritz Camera.
The company is evaluating which of the 75-year-old chain’s 13 other stores to re-open, if any, and plans to re-launch all of its online properties and rental business in the coming weeks.
The Oak Brook store will reopen on Mother’s Day (May 11).
