Amazon Launches Login For Teens

As part of its official back-to-school kickoff, Amazon has introduced a new way for teens to shop.

As part of its official back-to-school kickoff, Amazon has introduced a new way for teens to shop.

Children ages 13 through 17 can now obtain an Amazon login nested within their parents’ account that allows them to purchase items exclusively via the Amazon app. Parents can opt to receive order notifications, with the ability to approve or reject via text or email, or they can set spending limits for automatic approval.

The new login will also provide teens with access to such Prime member benefits as Prime Video and Twitch Prime if their parents are subscribers.

According to the company, mobile shopping on the app during the 2017 back-to-school timeframe rose 65 percent vs. 2016.

Amazon also debuted its redesigned dedicated back-to-school areas, with a new separate section for college students.
