TomTom launched a trade-in program in November that lets consumers send in any brand of portable navigation device (PND) for a cash return, if they purchase a TomTom PND.
The program is designed to increase PND sales on TomTom.com by giving consumers the trade-in incentive and also to “do our part to be more environmentally conscious,” said the company.
The TomTom Trade-in & Trade-up program is hosted through a third party, Dealtree, and is available only in the U.S. at www.eztradein.com/tomtom/.
The Web site features a trade-in calculator that determined the trade-in value of a Garmin Nuvi 200 in good condition at $77. A TomTom One 130S fetches $47. The site says users receive a rebate check in seven to 14 days.
